These are exciting times for herbalists. We are witnessing the art of herbalism quickly regaining its rightful place in the American tradition of health and healing. However, as the herb industry grows and winds its way into the “mainstream” of America, it is eliciting a unique set of problems and concerns. Where once only a small group of people wild crafted plants in the wild, ever increasing numbers are now heading to the hills. This increased usage along with habitat destruction, is causing an ever-increasing shortage of plant resources, including some of our most treasured medicinal species.

Jash Botanicals is committed to the preservation of plant species. Several plants such as Echinacea, Goldenseal and American Ginseng are threatened in the wild due to over harvesting and loss of their natural habitat. For that reason, Jash uses only exclusively cultivated herbs that can be harvested in a sustainable manner. The farms we purchase our herbs from are certified by Oregon Tilth, who is accredited under the USDA National Organic Program. Their farms are situated in locations with no large-scale commercial farming nearby, thus they are not subjected to the hundreds of synthetic poisons available to today’s non-organic farmer. In addition, the farms we purchase from strive to develop organic agricultural production systems for endangered wild herbs and low quality herbs that are imported. They know what it takes

to grow, dry and process clean, unadulterated herbs. We strive to support the small organic farmer and the plant biodiversity they ensure. Organic herbs are better for people’s health, and the health of our precious planet. Buying organic also has minimal impact on the environment and wild plant populations. We are totally dedicated to creating a mutually beneficial, symbiotic relationship between people and the environment. We recycle, use environmentally sound products and packaging, and offer only cruelty-free products.
